January 2008 - Prabhasa Ravikirthi, a first-year PhD student, has joined the Maranas group.

November 2007 - Dr. Costas D. Maranas has been elected a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering with his citation reading: "for outstanding contributions in computational design and optimization of biological systems, protein libraries, metabolic pathways, and regulatory networks".

May 2007 - Dr. Costas D. Maranas has been selected as the Recipient of the Stratis V. Sotirchos Lectureship 2007 from the Greek Insitute Of Chemical Engineering and will be giving his lecture at the 6th Panhellenic Chemical Engineering Conference in Athens.

March 2007 - Madhukar Dasika (PhD '07) successfully defended his PhD thesis. Congratulations!

February 2007 - YoungJung Chang (PhD '06) has joined the Maranas group as a postdoctoral scholar to support the group's continuing efforts in metabolic and protein engineering.

January 2007 - Sridhar Ranganathan, a first-year PhD student in Industrial Engineering, has joined the Maranas group.

August 2006 - Alireza Zomorrodi, a PhD student in Chemical Engineering, has joined the Maranas group.

July 2006 - Dr. Costas D. Maranas has been awarded the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers' (AIChE) Computing and Systems Technology Division.

June 2006 - Francisco Vital-Lopez received the Best Presentation Award for the 2006 ACC Section "Modeling and Control of Biological Processes"

April 2006 - Manish Saraf (PhD '06) successfully defended his PhD thesis. Congratulations!

February 2006 - Manish Saraf won first place for his poster in the Life Science category at the 2nd Annual Computation Day at Penn State, which came with a $500 prize from the Huck Institute. Way to go, Manish!

November 2005 - Vinay Satish Kumar, a first-year PhD student in Industrial Engineering, has joined the Maranas group.

November 2005 - Patrick Suthers, (PhD '05) has joined the Maranas group as a postdoctoral scholar to support the group's continuing efforts in metabolic engineering.

November 2005 - Priti Pharkya (PhD '05) successfully defended her PhD thesis. Congratulations!

August 2005 - Dr. Costas D. Maranas has been named the Donald B. Broughton Professor of Chemical Engineering.
